Biography

Mike is an attorney working primarily in the firm's Domestic Relations and Family Law Department. In this role, Mike routinely handles divorces, dissolutions, custody disputes, child support matters, domestic violence and civil protective orders, and parental rights. Mike also has experience assisting individuals and businesses in navigating the civil litigation process, including disputes related to contracts, employment issues, construction, probate and trust issues, and personal injury. In addition, Mike assists individuals charged with criminal offenses in both state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Dungan & LeFevre, Mike served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office in Dayton. As a prosecutor, Mike gained valuable trial and appellate experience. Most notably, he briefed and argued one case before the Ohio Supreme Court and presented over forty appeals at the Ohio Second District Court of Appeals. As an appellate attorney, Mike successfully responded to the appeals of some of the most serious offenders in Montgomery County, including cases of murder, sexual assault, child abuse, and major drug trafficking.

Mike has extensive experience representing clients before administrative agencies, state courts, and federal courts in Ohio. Additionally, Mike's previous work as a law clerk for a federal judge gave him a well-rounded understanding of the litigation process.

Mike is a graduate of the Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Mike graduated from law school magna cum laude and was admitted to Order of the Coif. During law school, he had the opportunity to work as a judicial intern at the High Court of the Republic of Botswana, extern for a U.S. District Judge, and work on the Sixth Circuit Appellate Clinic. Mike served as a citations editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review and as a senior articles editor for Human Rights Quarterly.

Mike is a native of Vandalia and continues to reside in his hometown along with his wife and two young sons.
