John E. (Jack) Hemm has been a trial lawyer since 1982 practicing primarily in the areas of criminal law and domestic relations. He is also active in the preparation of estate planning documents, such as Wills, Living Wills, Financial Powers of Attorney and Health Care Powers of Attorney. Jack has also been involved as a member of the Miami County Public Defender’s office since 1985.
Jack graduated with a business degree from Miami University in 1979 and from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1982. He was admitted to the Ohio State Bar and the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Ohio. Jack is a partner in Dungan & LeFevre, which he joined in 1993. Over the years Jack has defended clients in hundreds of trials, including dozens of jury trials. He practices in Miami, Darke, Shelby, Logan, Auglaize, Clark, Champaign, and Montgomery Counties. Jack typically works on a flat fee basis for criminal matters, such as OVI’s, driving under suspension, disorderly conduct, assault, and domestic violence, to name a few. Fees will generally range from $750 to $2,500, depending on the seriousness and number of charges, as well as whether or not the case will go to trial.
A lifelong resident of Miami County, Jack has served on many boards over the years and, while his children were young, served as a youth coach for boys and girls in basketball, baseball, and softball. Jack and his wife, Robyn, reside in Piqua and are the proud parents of three adult children and two grandchildren.
